What Are Fun Things To Do On A First Date?

So often a first date is dinner and a movie, or drinks and dinner, and it’s a real shame, because there are so many other interesting things to do that can be a lot of fun. You don’t want to scare the life out of your date so before you plan a skydiving trip, try to find out what your date’s interests are.

You can have a picnic because you can both relax and get to know each other. What you can do is play with a Frisbee, enjoy the scenery and sit around, or maybe even take a walk. It takes the pressure off both of you because you wouldn’t have to dress up and make an impression and it’s also romantic without being too soppy.

Instead of a movie, go to a museum or gallery. Even though everyone won’t find it appealing, it will give you time to talk, you’ll also have an idea of each other’s interests and it can be a lot of fun if you choose the right museum.

You could try something neither of you has done before, like mountain biking, horse riding, or even skydiving. If you are both a little nervous, it can help to break the ice - but there are safety concerns that you will have to consider. This type of activity should be discussed before you make any plans - a fear of flying will nix the skydiving idea for example.

Adding to a first date is a different location especially if you have time. Visiting a nearby town can provide entertainment, new experiences and a lot of fun. To avoid driving for an hour and only to find out there’s nowhere to get food, do some research first.

Doing something out of your age group can be a lot of fun sometimes. You can try to visit a kid’s amusement park, go to the zoo, or even the circus. It gives you both an opportunity to let your hair down and relax, without putting too much pressure on either of you.

When you volunteer at a charity for your first date, not only will you do good, you’ll also have fun and get to know each other. Some of the things you can do include taking a child to the zoo, taking the dogs at the animal shelter for a walk, or entertaining people at your local old age home.

In order to have a memorable and entertaining first date that you’ll both enjoy, you need to think outside the box. Because you are doing things together, you have a better chance of forming an initial bond, and you avoid those awful pregnant pauses in conversation that so often punctuate dinner!
