Are Human Beings Programmed To Cheat?

Almost all animals including humans by nature are ready and willing to change partners if it suits them and that includes humans as well. There are only a few animal species in nature that are monogamous who follow a strict single mate policy.

Human beings are forced to follow a single mate policy by the institution of marriage to avoid conflicts in the society and also to give the children the chance to grow up in the safety of their homes. This arrangement benefits the society by giving security to the children who are the future members of the society.

We are always ready to experiment with a new partner if it can be done discreetly. Deep down we,the human beings are not programmed to follow a single mate policy. The old saying that variety is the spice of life is true and inside us there is always the craving for variety.

The society will collapse if we carry out our amorous intentions and many families will breakup resulting in hurt and deep scar in the psyche of the affected family members. The irony of this is that though we like to stray and enjoy it’s so called thrills,we do not want our spouses to do the same. We want them to be faithful to us by thoughts and deeds. We control this feeling to stray for the sake of children whose future will be spoiled if we act out our intentions and also due to the fear of exposure and it’s consequences.

We, the human beings are weak in flesh and need the help of our vigilant spouses to stop us from straying even though we may not like them doing it. It is the duty of every couple to understand this and look for the inevitable danger signals from their spouses so that timely remedial measures are taken to safeguard the family unit from break up.
